A YUMMY Friday!

Our day began in the gym. Mrs. Ruby asked all students who hasd written a letter to Santa to come to the front to assist with O'Canada! Brooke was our class leader today and did great job! Today the children discovered what our core for December's calendar pattern is! (ABAC) In Math we reviewed the names of 2-D and 3-D shapes and discussed their attributes. The children then finished an activity they had started yesterday. They named their shape creature and recorded the number of squares, circles, triangles and rectangles they had used.

Following recess I read a story called Grumpy Badger's Christmas and we did a Christmas art activity. I was very pleased with how well they all listened to create their beautiful trees!

Our Christmas lunch was delicious and we all just wished for a nap time afterwards!

At Gym time we practiced bouncing small balls off the walll and catching it again.

The day ended with French today!

CURRENT UNIT OF INQUIRY: More Than A Feeling!

Central Idea: We can express our feelings/emotions in many different ways.

Today the children were introduced to a program called Kelso's Choices. It is an excellent program about dealing with big and small problems. There is lots of info on the internet and I wish I had learned about it years ago! We watched some scenarios on the web and how Kelso helped the children solve their small problems.
