Poinsettia Wednesday!                        

 

Our day began in the Gym as usual. Karmin was our leader and she did a great job at calendar time. We have a long list of things to remember that happen every December!

During Math we learned the difference between 2-D and 3-D shapes and learned some really tricky words {like: rectangular prism and square-based pyramid!!} We will be doing a lot more work with geometry and positional words over the next few weeks. PLEASE save and send in small boxes and tubes (toilet paper/paper towel rolls) for the creation of our 3-D structure later in this unit.

In Language Arts we discussed the structure of a sentence .. it must have "something or someone" doing something to be a sentence. The SK's wrote sentences using 4 of the positional words that are going on the word ring this week.They did an awesome job too! The JK's did collages with things that contain the "short u" sound.

This afternoon we made beautiful poinsettias as our contribution toward decorating the gym for the concert. You will get to see them next week!

The day ended with French with Mdme. V. She practiced with the students for their French song with the Gr. 1/2 class.
