A Gorgeous November day!
Our day began in the gym as usual. Karmin was our leader today and did a great job with calendar. We are doing an "ABC" pattern this month (Bear, goose, bat) and will be talking about how animals and people get ready for winter. Our new Unit of Inquiry (UOI) is "How We Express Ourselves." This unit continues until Christmas so we will be doing a lot of music, drama and visual arts over the next 6 weeks ... and discussing how we feel about it!
The children were introduced to the addition concept today. The SK students remembered their lessons from JK, so I was pleased! We will resume sorting, graphing and making predictions but will also include addition on a weekly basis.
In Language Arts we had Sound Pail for the "r-r-r-r" sound and printed "n". The children were also able to get new library books today. (As an aside, I do not "edit" the books your child chooses, so if you do not like his/her choice, don't feel obliged to read it!)
This afternoon we worked on ball-kicking skills and tried to get the ball up off the floor with the kick! Some students chose to look at our bat books and to colour in a mini bat book we will read tomorrow.
Have a good night!
