Welcome to a FANTASTIC
FRIDAY!
We began
the day in the Gym with our House Team-mates for Opening Exercises and House
Points. The Cross-country runners were also recognized for their great
accomplishments at the Dufferin County meet yesterday.
Back in
the classroom, after completing all other morning jobs, Gunner helped us
through calendar time. Great job, Gunner - especially when you said you wanted to think a bit longer before getting help :)
We had a serious “chat” about this
year’s first spelling dictation for JK and SK. I reminded the students that it
is OK to be nervous and it is OK to make mistakes. That is how we learnJ Everyone did a great job after all!
Following snack and recess, we heard the story called “Pumpkin
Hill” and then completed our work on our Pumpkin Life Cycle posters.
After lunch we made paper bag
scarecrows and we got so involved that we forgot to have GYM time! In fact, I
just realized that this very moment! I guess no one else remembered either
because there was no mention of it. Our scarecrows are beautiful! The children
LOVED being given permission to rip up newspaper to stuff into their bags.
French was after the last
recess today as Mr. P. was away at a conference and we had to do some
re-adjusting in Madame’s day!
Once again today, it was a very
short playtime and 200 extra house points for the students who cleaned up and
packed up for home quickly – including water bottles and shoes away for the
weekend! All in all a very satisfying day!!!!
Scarecrow friends!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
