Good evening to all
readers of this blog!
Opening
Exercises and House points were held in the gym first thing this morning. This
is the first day that all of our class has made it there, with shoes on, in
time for all of O’ Canada! My students receive house points for getting indoor shoes
on and getting to the gym! We complete other morning jobs on the way back to
the classroom .. like making sure our outside shoes are neatly put together, on
or under our designated shelf! Many of our class are already independently
doing that without being asked J
The day’s leader, Kate, did a great
job with calendar questions and routines. We moved directly into phonics from
there. The PS students glued coloured noodles onto a large N,n template. The
JK/SK group worked with their word rings and then made “at” family word slides,
which they have brought home tonight so assist with spelling dictation practise!
I got to read my favourite pumpkin
story to the children today. It is called Too Many Pumpkins and is
really a story about sharing time, talents and treasures with others.
Madame V. “collected “ my students
for FRENCH. Our UOI followed and we began
to discuss the life cycle of a pumpkin plant. We will finish this activity
tomorrow.
Right after the lunch recess we made
individualized patterns using acrylic acorns, leaves and pumpkins that I have
in my collection! JK’s and SK’s then worked on pattern skill-sheets to put into
their work binders.
We had Drama class with the Grade ½ class. I taught the students some of the fun
action songs I have known from years and years of camping experiences.
Show and share followed with
Charlotte and Katie. Katie kindly suggested that Charlotte go first since she
is younger. J J
We only had a short time for playing
today so it was a little more difficult to get everyone tidying up and ready for
dismissal on time!
Busy at work!
Some patterns are really tricky!
Now this is concentration!
Have a fantastic evening!
