Welcome all readers
of today’s blog!
School began right on time today since it was
raining and everyone was in the school before the bell rang! We had O’ Canada
and a minute of silent meditation. Mr. P. reminded us of this month’s IB
attitude of independence and the IB attribute of knowledge.
Ms. L. supervised
calendar time today with Samuel as leader .. a super job done by both :)
In Phonics we learned the sound of
"c/k/ck". A story was told about Samuel's family going to Spain to
see the Flamenco Dancers! We will have SOUND PAIL tomorrow for things that start
or end with the sound c/k/ck makes. Pre-schoolers coloured a comb and a car and printed a few c's! JK's found the correct 4 "c" pictures to go on the caps. SK's tried to recall "c" words we had already talked about and
wrote them in a Carol Cat booklet.
Our story today was called "Thirteen
Runaway Pumpkins."
For our UOI we sorted through pre-cut pictures from grocery store flyers
to find FRUIT and VEGETABLES for 2 big charts to go on the wall. We discussed
being thankful for the farmers that grow our food
After lunch recess (indoors ) we worked on patterns using interlinking cubes and the JK’s and SK’s reproduced their patterns with markers and paper strips .
The JK/SK’s had a printing lesson
for “o” – excellent work!!
Addison “shared” his ABC book and Sarah “shared” her Rapunzel Barbie.
I have set up a Writing Centre in
the classroom. If you happen to have any extra blank notes, writing paper or
envelopes you wish to part with, I would be happy to add them to the centre!
Extra House Points were given to
students who were able to clean up and pack up quickly but carefully J
