Welcome
Back and Happy New Year!
We had a wonderful day today! The
children were happy to be back and everyone worked so well on every task they
were given!
Following the Opening Exercises in
the Gym, and a “workout” with our leader, Madison, we did morning jobs and
spent a long time on calendar! We discussed the New Year and the new pattern on
January’s calendar! The children have a new “morning job” now ~ each student is
responsible for gluing the day’s message into their agenda and making sure that
I see any messages you have enclosed. We discussed highlights of the holidays
and had snack time.
Our story today was called “Perfect
Snow” by Barbara Reid. In Language Arts we learned the sound of “F,f.” Each
grade did a separate skill-sheet for the “f” sound. Tomorrow is Sound Pail for
things that start with F,f!
In the afternoon the children had
some free time while I read with today’s readers and got new books into the
Reading Bags for those children! We had Gym time and played “What Time is it
Mr. Wolf?” The day ended with French
with Mme. V.
Have a super evening!
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
PS. Just in case it
wasn’t clear in my letter regarding the Math project, each student will be
building their own structure this year! (Last year we built a giant one
together!) Please send your child’s materials in any time but definitely by
Jan. 20th so we can finish off this unit before the end of the
month!
