A Wild, but Wonderful Wednesday!
Our day began in the
gym with Opening Exercises. Reed, our leader, gave us a good pre-class workout
as we played Follow the Leader! After morning jobs were completed we had
calendar time and then Math.
Today we discussed words to describe our pumpkins
by size, such as largest, bigger, tiniest, littler, etc.! I tried to video this
but couldn’t get it to copy to the blog. I’ll keep working on that technical skill!
We also used wool to estimate the size of several pumpkin’s “tummies.” I was
too involved in this task to take any pictures!

Our story today was “Sixteen
Runaway Pumpkins” ~ a rather silly, rhyming book!
In Language Arts we
had Sound Pail for “short i” and found the words “it” and “is” and “sit” on our
Word Rings.
In UOI we reviewed the
life cycle of a pumpkin, read the book “From Seed to Pumpkin” and completed a
Life Cycle activity.
Following the last recess,
we met for the first time with our Grade 5/6 Reading Buddies. We made Candy
Corn Pals and looked at books together. It was a very busy but fulfilling day!
Now if the Jays would win today,
all will be well with the world!!!!! JJ
