Terrific Tuesday!
We have had a wonderful
day .. lots of learning about working together is happening on a daily basis! We
had Opening Exercises in the Gym and reminders from Mr. Playford that we stand
still when singing O”Canada out of respect for our country. How fortunate we
are to live here!
The students were introduced to their “Journals” today and the
children drew pictures of something they did in their summer vacation. I
modeled printing in their books as they dictated their words to me.
At Math time the JK’s cut
and pasted pictures and sorted them to go in a lunchbox or a backpack. The SK’s
did a counting and number printing worksheet up to 20. This gives me a good
idea of what should be next for each one as far as numeration and number sense
is concerned.
I read two stories at
story time ~ a silly book called “David Goes to School” and a follow-up to “Kissing
Hand” called “A Pocket Full of Kisses.” They LOVE story time and always ask for
more!
After lunch recess it was
time for UOI (Unit of Inquiry). We looked at books about From Farm to Table,
learned a song called “Fries and Ketchup, learned how ketchup can be made at
home and did a skill-sheet matching the “producer” to the product.
At Free Choice time, the
children enjoyed playing with the playdough I made for them.
Have a wonderful evening!
