It’s FRIDAY!!
Our day began in the gym
with the Grade 5/6 class who were preparing to present their Exhibition projects
today! They have worked so hard and I
could see some of them were feeling nervous.
In the classroom, Brooke
led us through calendar. We always add
the weekend numbers so we are ready for Monday. It is hard to believe that
Monday will be the mid-point of May already!
In Math the students did a “garden
tools” measurement activity using inch worms (non-standard units) and
centimetres (standard units) to measure each item. They completed tracking
sheets and were surprised to find that the longest and shortest items were the
same things regardless of the method of measurement!
Reading sight words in the POPCORN game!
At Language Arts time I read a
story called “One Good Deed” (brand new from the last book order). We played a
game called “popcorn” that involved reading sight words. The JK’s were paired
with an SK and the teams worked very well encouraging each other!
Following the long lunch
recess we were invited to watch the Gr. 5/6 Exhibition projects. We saw the “edited”
versions as some of their studies exposed them to some information that was
appropriate for them, but not for us. (ie: animal cruelty)
We had a short Gym time
outside and the day ended with French.
Have an awesome weekend!
Keep warm!
