Welcome Monday!
Our day began as usual in the gym. Grace was our leader today and led her friends around the gym in "Follow the Leader." This has become part of our daily routine as well and this class is amazing at following in a line! Believe it or not, all groups of children can not do this!
In the classroom we had calendar and weekend news. We continued with subtraction at Math time. The SK's worked independently and I worked with the JK's to create a fish bowl with some fish jumping out to make a subtraction story.
In language Arts I read a story called Dandelions: Stars in the Grass . We reviewed some of our sounds and printed "q."  The SK's did a Spelling List activity and everyone made an entry into their journal.
This afternoon we had a "serious discussion about Respecting Others and I set up GREEN, YELLOW and RED pockets. Each child starts each day with a popsicle stick with his/her name on it in the GREEN pocket. Popsicle sticks can move back and forth from the green and yellow pockets during the day, making the students responsible for the respect they show to others. Students do not want to get their stick into the RED pocket! Ask your child about this to find out what can happen if the popsicle stick is in the green at the end of the day!
We had Gym Time and French to finish off the day!

Enjoy your evening!
