A Cool and Drizzly Day

Following Opening Exercises, Charlotte led the children around the gym with lots of twisting and turning! Calendar went well and we moved right into Math. We learned that we must use a BASE LINE to make a fair assessment between two or more objects.

Who is the tallest?

Then the students found items in the classroom that were about 10cm. long and presented them to the class. They learned that there are 100 cm. in a metre!

In Language Arts they were taught the “long u” sound. The SK’s did some work using a word bank of “long u” words to fill in the blanks. Their reading is moving right along! The JK’s completed a skill-sheet on final consonants.

In our UOI today we watched a couple of educational YouTube clips about modes and means of transportation.

CURRENT UNIT OF INQUIRY: More Than A Feeling!

Central Idea: We can express our feelings/emotions in many different ways.

Today the children were introduced to a program called Kelso's Choices. It is an excellent program about dealing with big and small problems. There is lots of info on the internet and I wish I had learned about it years ago! We watched some scenarios on the web and how Kelso helped the children solve their small problems.
