A Beautiful Day!
Following opening in the Gym, Ms.
Shebobman and Samuel led us through the calendar routines. She presented today’s
Daily Schedule and we have encouraged the children to refer to it throughout
the day. At Math time the JK’s did some counting and connecting to numbers activities and the SK”s
worked on their “My Day” books. A few of the children are finished their books
and we will work on the covers tomorrow.
In Language Arts I read a few funny penguin poems from Antarctic Antics.
We learned the sound of “v”. Sound Pail
tomorrow for things containing the ‘v” sound anywhere in them!
Following the long recess, we
talked about Friendship... the qualities that friends have and things we like
to do with our friends. It is a very broad subject but the children
participated well in all aspects of the discussion. I read the book called Howard
B. Wigglebottom Learns about Mud and Rainbows. From the book: “Howard
learned that sometimes life gives you rainbows and sometimes you get mud. So if
you find yourself headfirst in mud and you can’t change it, you still have
choices. You can be unhappy about it, or make the best of it.” We sang a
song from the beginning of the year called “I wanna be a friend of yours!”
