Thursday! Happy Diwali!

It was a busy day today! Reed was our leader and did a great job with calendar. During Math, we plotted Our Favourite Season on a graph. Winter appears to be the favourite season of most of the children but none of the adults in the room!!!

In Language Arts, the JK's traced and printed letters of the alphabet and SK's did the post-assessment of the OWA .. both are writing assessments required for report card writing!

We also learned the sound of "D,d" today and did follow up activities.

At lunch time, Karmin's Mom arrived with pizza for the class as part of our Diwali celebration. We watched a short video about Diwali, read some information books and made Happy Diwali cards!

Enjoy your evening!

CURRENT UNIT OF INQUIRY: More Than A Feeling!

Central Idea: We can express our feelings/emotions in many different ways.

Today the children were introduced to a program called Kelso's Choices. It is an excellent program about dealing with big and small problems. There is lots of info on the internet and I wish I had learned about it years ago! We watched some scenarios on the web and how Kelso helped the children solve their small problems.
