A wet and dreary Friday!
We had a great day ... though slightly nerve-wracking for teachers as we tried to get last minute corrections made on report cards and as we dealt with no outside recesses all day!
We began in the gym as usual. Mr. Hunt started off by saying "Happy Monday" but there was no tricking anyone!! Even the Kinders knew it was Friday!

Samuel was our leader today and did a fine job with calendar. At Math time, JK and SK students received a list of our class' names and a blank graph entitled "The Vowels in our Names." We discussed different strategies for plotting information on the graph. The entire class did an awesome job with this activity and in the end, all of our bars matched. We discovered that there is only 1 "u" in all our first names and 8 "e's" It was a perfect ending to our Data Management Unit!

The class did some independent language work while I tidied up some report card work.

In the afternoon for our UOI, we had a bat-drawing lesson! It went soooo well! After several trials on white paper, we drew little brown bats and glued them onto a black, night sky.

We started to talk about Christmas and will continue with "Expressing Ourselves" through Christmas activities for the month of December.

Here is a sample of last week's Art project.
The children are calling them rainbow clouds!

I took these "Show and Share" pictures earlier this week but didn't get them posted!

Have a wonderful weekend!
