Hello to the Kindergarten blog!

We were able to get back into our regular routines today with Opening Exercises in the Gym, Calendar with our day's leader, Reed, and Show and Share.

During Math time the SK's did work with Apple ten frames and did a colour by number activity. JK's made posters matching numerals, dots and animals.

In Language Arts we made spiders and talked more about the sound that "s" makes. We realized that during recess students from our class played on the swings, the slide and in the sand!

Unit of Inquiry ... working on our body tracings!

We were able to fit some Gym time in today as we missed out yesterday!

CURRENT UNIT OF INQUIRY: More Than A Feeling!

Central Idea: We can express our feelings/emotions in many different ways.

Today the children were introduced to a program called Kelso's Choices. It is an excellent program about dealing with big and small problems. There is lots of info on the internet and I wish I had learned about it years ago! We watched some scenarios on the web and how Kelso helped the children solve their small problems.
