Monday Madness!!

Ethan was our leader today and did an excellent job with calendar routines! We had weekend news and talked about what this week will bring ~ Track and Field, Gr. 5/6 Science Exhibition, Casual Day, PD Day on Friday ... as well as a move across the hall!

In Language Arts we printed “w”. At Math time, Mrs. Wilks and her “volunteered” daughter, played a few fun games of Alphabet Bingo while I started Term 3 Reading Assessments! In the afternoon, we looked at some art by Georgia O’Keeffe and started a similar project as our contribution to the Spring Concert decorations! It was our first experience with charcoal pastels and all of the children handled it extremely well! We will complete this task tomorrow. We went outside for Gym time and continued to work on running and ball throw for the Track Meet on Wednesday!

CURRENT UNIT OF INQUIRY: More Than A Feeling!

Central Idea: We can express our feelings/emotions in many different ways.

Today the children were introduced to a program called Kelso's Choices. It is an excellent program about dealing with big and small problems. There is lots of info on the internet and I wish I had learned about it years ago! We watched some scenarios on the web and how Kelso helped the children solve their small problems.
