A
Monday in May!
This morning we identified a
few teams that are still in the NHL play-offs! That group of students, sporting
their team jerseys, led us in O’ Canada! A group of students from Mr. Hunt’s
room reminded us of their Action Plan to try to reduce greenhouse gases at
school and home for all of this week. Therefore, we are working without the
lights on whenever possible and trying to use our electronic devices for
educational purposes only.
In the classroom, Gunner led us
through the calendar and we had weekend news.
The pre-K’s printed “x” and “w”
with Mrs. Wilks. The JK’s and SK’s printed “v” today.
Following the first recess, students
started work on a size comparison poster based on the “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” story. We will complete it tomorrow!
First thing in the afternoon I read a book called "Living Sunlight" .. about the sun being the source of our energy, even through what we eat! It was a bit too much for them so we went outside and drew a chalk garden, starting with seeds underground, sun and rain, roots, leaves and flowers. It was a great exercise!! (Sorry about the dusty clothing!)
I hope you had a great weekend with lots of family time! I did :) Four generations at our house for the afternoon and dinner last night!
Have a wonderful evening.
