It’s Wednesday!
We met with the Grade 1 & 2 class, and 3 Grade 3 students,
for O Canada and the collection of House points. We discovered a pattern in our
groups .. 11 Kappas, 9, Thetas, 7 Zetas and determined what size imaginary
groups would be!
In the classroom, our leader Katie took us through the routines.
The JK’s and SK’s learned the sound of “ng” today and did some reading and
writing work to compliment the new sound.
In Math we wrote subtraction stories to match our singing of the
song “There were Ten in the Bed!” The children then did a subtraction
skill-sheet using “X out the number leaving the group” and count how many are
left behind.
Our UOI following lunch recess focused on the many different
feelings that we have and we made facial expressions to show some of them.
It has been a very busy week so far, with me trying to finalize
some testing in order to complete report card writing. Several students have
already left for their March Break. Other children are really excited about
their upcoming holidays so we have had a little more “free Choice” time than
usual! Just a reminder that Friday is a Spirit Day ... dress in green for St.
Patrick’s Day!
Have a wonderful evening!
