Welcome to all blog readers!
We started our day in the gym with Opening
Exercises, a spontaneous Multiplication Drill on the 4x table, and then
collection of House Points! Back in the classroom, Charlotte today’s leader, did
a great job with the calendar routine! We did Sound Pail for “long a” . The
Pre-K’s left to do more work with letter A,a, and the JK/SK group learned to
print lower case “e”. After snack and an indoor recess, we began an exciting
activity centred around Olaf! Luckily we had Karmin’s stuffed Olaf here to be
our model. J While the children cut out his 5 main body
parts, I set up the SNOWMAN SHOP! Students came to the shop with a baggie and
were given 15 cents to spend to purchase other parts for Olaf (mouth, arms, etc.)
I filled out a receipt as they purchased and gathered their “goods” and they
paid me with their pennies. Every Olaf is different of course, and some are
really mixed up as we know what happened to Olaf throughout the movie! You can
view their work on the bulletin board outside the classroom once all of the
glue dries! (hopefully by the end of tomorrow)

In the afternoon, I read the story All You
Need For a Snowman and then we did some catch-up work. Some had to finish
Olaf and some had to complete yesterday’s mini book on “long a”. We chose new
library books this afternoon and had some extended “free time”. Addison used his time to do a number puzzle --- great job Addison!
Enjoy your evening!
