Mixed-up Tuesday!!

A quick start to the day in the gym as many parents were waiting for the Grades 4/5/6 speeches to begin!

Kate was our leader today but we didn’t get through calendar in one session as the Gr. 1&2 class joined us for speech practice!

As leader, Kate pointed to the words and we followed her finger and read!

After the first recess we learned the sound and various ways to read “long i”. (ie/i-e/y) JK’s and SK’s did separate skill-sheets to identify the long and short sound of “i”. Very well done everyone!

Following the long recess we read The Big Storm (see the side panel)

and prepared a jar for the snow collection at recess. We went outside a few minutes early to enjoy the sunshine!

Hmmmm - I wonder who will be the closest?

                                                     Painting snowy scenes!

Sharing, reading, free choice time and dismissal were all on schedule.
