Happy Monday!

Thank goodness for nicer weather. The children had a wonderful time outside today at all recess times!

Opening in the Gym as usual

In the classroom, Ethan was our leader. Great job with calendar! Welcome back to Ethan! It sounds like his family had an amazing trip! Thanks for the wonderful pencils for the class, Ethan!

In Language Arts, the JK and SK students are learning to read number words (zero to twelve). We will focus on this for the next few Mondays! They are also learning to use the “Student Tools” provided to assist them with finding answers.

In Math, following a review of digital and analog time to the hour, they were introduced to time to the half hour. This is a tricky concept but several students were able to read 11:30 on our classroom clock which was the reminder that it was time for French!  We are starting to work on our 3-D clocks as well!

Following lunch and recess, I read the story called Sadie and the Snowman , which was followed by Show and Share and then Gym time. In the gym today the children were given “flowing” scarves and asked to move the scarves to different types of music. They did a great job and I sure wish I had taken my camera to the gym to get some pictures! Since the scarves were gold and red they looked like little fires dancing around the gym!

Centre time and reading time with me, completed the day.
