Today
was the last Friday for school in 2014!
(can you believe it?)
We had
Op. Ex. in the classroom again today. We will be back to “normal” on Monday!
Sarah
took us through the calendar and we talked about the words “past”, “future” and
“present”. She added Day #69. The Pre-K’s left the room and the rest of the
students sorted gingerbread man pictures doing seasonal things! They had to
find 3 pictures for each of the seasons and put them in the correct column.
Following recess they were introduced to the dime. We quickly reviewed pennies and
nickels and then reviewed counting by 10’s! They did a skill-sheet to practice
printing their numbers by 10’s and counting the sum of the dimes at the same
time.
We
missed French today in order to attend the Christmas dinner. It was DELICIOUS!!!
Thank you so much to all families who assisted in any way!
Following
the lunch recess we made paper bag gingerbread houses and later created our own
class gingerbread man! I think we may have to keep a close eye on him once the
glue dries! He has a mighty sly look on his face!
Once
again the children were very busy creating all kinds of things during free
choice time. They can’t seem to get enough “crafting” time!
Have
a wonderful weekend!
