Welcome to Terrific Tuesday!
Charlotte was our leader
today and did all of her leader jobs very proficiently!
Our Phonics lesson today
was about the sound of “short o”. I told a story about Charlotte turning a
light on and off (while visiting Nana and Grandpa in England!) The JK students
did a log cabin activity working with the “og” word family. The SK students did
a matching activity, with 10 “short o” words to read and match to the
appropriate picture. Some of the SK’s also completed a reading and drawing
activity. (ie: a dog on a log).
In Math we proved which set
was less or more by drawing lines to match up pairs and then identifying the
set with some left over. We have started working with the < and > symbols.
We call it an alligator mouth ... which always eats the biggest number because
it is greedy!
We had a chat after the
lunch recess (we sent the children out for just 15 minutes) about watching out
for each other in cold weather and about sledding/hill rules.
Story today ....The Egg which led us into the discussion about who
lays eggs and what kind of eggs do we usually eat!
Reading with Sarah ( Karmin
was absent ).
We ate the Rice Krispie “0”
from yesterday’s 50 during afternoon centre time!
Keep warm and be safe on the roads!
Have a great evening!
