Happy Wednesday!
We started our day in the gym
with House Points and a brief reflection by those students who attended a
cenotaph yesterday. Gunner was our class
leader and did a super job leading us through calendar.
The Pre-school students left the room with Mrs. Wilks ( our new ECE) where they started learning to identify and print their names. Mrs. Wilks read Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom and they recited the alphabet.
The JK's and SK's worked with the colour word brown by finding all of the brown markers and pencil crayons in our bins and by correcting the mixed up letters in "brown". The SK's prepared a page for their colour books and the JK's began colouring "BROWN" and "brown" letter templates for our brown poster. What a great job of working collaboratively!
Following morning snack and recess, the JK's and SK's did some counting and number-printing using whiteboards. The JK's did a "Goose and Egg" skill-sheet while the SK's printed numbers as high as they could go in the time left before FRENCH! A few of them got past 40!
The Pre-school children re-joined us for French, lunch and for the afternoon. We had story time, sharing by Grace, Kate, Ethan and Sarah and a short game of Crackers and Crumbs in the gym.
During Centres, students were able to exchange their library books, readers of the day read with me, and Ms. L. shared her "Scents Box" with anyone interested .. which turned out to be quite a few of the children!
