Fantastic Friday!

We did O’ Canada in our classroom this morning. Our moment of quiet meditation was for the people of Buffalo.

Ethan did an excellent job at calendar time!

In Language Arts, the JK’s worked with the Word of the Week (like) while the SK’s did their dictation. The SK’s worked with the word “like” as well and all of the students wrote in their journals, making sentences that started with “I like...”

In Math both groups did some counting and number matching while I did individualized assessments.

Following the lunch recess, we listened to 2 stories! One was called The Cow That Went OINK!  And the other was called The Cow Who Clucked. We then discussed how both stories were alike and how they differed, as both were by different authors. We had a few games of Four Corners in the classroom as the Gym was out-of-bounds today.

It was a quiet afternoon as we had 6 students missing by 2 p.m. – some for illness, some for appointments. The remaining children worked from the craft bin for the rest of the day, making things like crowns and telescopes and pictures for friends or family.

Have an amazing weekend!
(It is Christmas at my house for some of our family!)
