A Lovely Spring Day!
Our day began in the gym as usual. There was quite a variety of jerseys worn by staff and students but the Toronto Maple Leafs were definitely the predominate ones! Go, Leafs, Go!!
Morning jobs were completed quickly and students started a word search as their "Bell Work" today. Nathan did a great job with calendar and did not hesitate for a second when asked to tell me the next number in the "HOW MANY DAYS AT SCHOOL?" chart. "It's 129." he said. When I asked him how he knew that he said the last number we put on was 128! Very impressive!
In Language Arts we learned the sound of "x" - a tricky sound but not used too often! Good luck with finding your sound pail item! (Remember, "x" makes the sound 'ks') The children also wrote in their journals today. They each completed the sentence "At Easter time I ..." and drew a corresponding picture.
This afternoon we talked about taking care of our planet and discussed how we already sort into recycle, compost or garbage in our our classroom. This is a lead-up to Earth Day on Saturday!
Don't forget to sign or initial the agenda message each day so your child can receive extra House Points for his/her house team. Each house league has won the trophy once(3 years) so the competition is pretty intense for this year!
Have a great evening!
