Happy Wednesday!

Following opening in the gym, Nathan, today's leader, gave us a work out! Morning jobs were completed quickly and the children settled in to do their BELL WORK. Today it was "Rainbow Write" the word "see." Great job everyone!

After calendar time we learned the sound of "ng"  ~ it's a hard one but I told a story about Nathan finding a strong man at the circus saying "ng" every time he lifted a weight. We practiced reading a few  words such as sing, song, tongs, and string so they could practice the sound.

Story time today was a book called Tangerine and Kiwi visit the Bread Maker. (It was a lead-up to our new UOI! )

At Math time we concluded graphing for the time being, by finishing the Frog House books ... which came home today. All of the children worked almost completely on their own to do page 3 of this booklet!!!

After lunch I wrote the word COMMUNITY on a chart paper and we talked about what it might mean. In the end we had created a very full "web" of community ideas and words! The children started to colour Community Helpers which will be turned into a "flip book" before too long!

We had a really great day!
