Good-bye summer!
We had a delay getting started this morning due to some last minute re-organizing in the classroom ...we now have a sink installed and working 100%! Yahoo! Thank you Mr. Batchelor!
Samuel led us through the calendar routine. We practiced counting to 100 and discussed the weather and the change of seasons.
In Language Arts we learned the sound of "a" (as in apricot and apple). The SK students did their pre-assessment in the OWA (Ontario Writing Assessment) and the JK's worked very quietly colouring an ambulance or some ants while they did so.
This afternoon we looked at a Science book with real photographs of the stages of an apple tree and apple development. We also did some apple-tasting today. We are working on two other Apple art activities, both of which we should be able to complete tomorrow!
Have a wonderful evening! Another beautiful day in store tomorrow :)
