Friday? Really??

Since it is the beginning of a month, we had a long assembly this morning which included recognizing students for perfect attendance in April, demonstrating life balance and and/or commitment to earn Principal’s Choice, the introduction of the new character-building traits for May (Attribute of Being Principled and Attitude of Integrity) and a fun House game! We arrived back in the classroom for snack time! Following recess we did calendar and dictation for both groups and worked on a “word slide.” Time for French!

In the afternoon I read a story called “Gilberto and the Wind” – it’s an old one ~ but a great one ~ which I remember studying in Child Literature 40 years ago! We started on a “SECRET” project today and watched a DVD of Maurice Sendak stories. Since we have waited so long for this kind of weather we had our free time outside and the children enjoyed having the sandbox and climbers all to themselves!
