Hello and good-bye to Wednesday!

Opening Ex. as usual / House Points collected!

Grace did a great job with calendar!

Ms. L.(Lodeserto) was the teacher today! She did a great job too!

The JK's and SK's had Sound Pail for the "short u" sound! The Sound pail was full of puppies, bunnies, gum and pictures of uncles! Ms L. played a few games of ALPHABET BINGO with them. Next, the JK's printed their colour words on their coloured hand-prints from a few weeks ago. The SK's worked in their journals. They were able to use the "baggie prompts" today but had to write one or two complete sentences rather than just lists of words! We started talking about capitalization and end marks today around the journal writing table!

Following snack and recess, the JK's and SK's made a PICTO-GRAPH with Ms. L. Students had to chose whether they preferred to go sledding or build a snowman! The decision was really hard for some of them to make, but they could only choose one. In the end, 5 more people liked to go sledding than build a snowman. The pre-school students worked on their numbers with Mrs. Wilks. She drew 6 boxes on the page and and the children then had to draw 1 circle in the first box, labeled "1"; 2 circles in the next box, labeled "2"; etc. They worked together, each doing the same box at the same time and we have kept their work as an end of term assessment. I'm sure we'll see great growth over the next few months!

This afternoon, Ms. L. read a story called "the Dot" and then we drew our own dot on paper and watched what it could become .. a great lesson! 

In gym they used the parachute for cooperative games with Ms. L. while I took pictures!

We had our first "choir" practice with the GR. 1/2 class in preparation for the concert in 2 weeks!
