Hello!

Just two more sleeps until Hallowe’en!

During the morning assembly, Mr. P. chose girls with blue eyes and blonde hair, and boys with brown eyes and dark hair, to come to the front. These students then had to organize themselves in order from tallest to shortest! We are recognizing patterns all around us!

In the classroom, Grace did an awesome job of answering calendar questions and leading the class in listing off all of the things that happen in October! We sang the colour song because it was casual day and we were wearing more than white, grey and navy today! Sound Pail for the sound of “h” followed with lots of great items coming in such as Katie’s hairdryer (toy) and Samuel’s heart pillow!

The JK’s and SK’s did an activity with the WORD OF THE WEEK” which is “the!” Our story today was called Who Goes Out for Hallowe’en? We had time to sing a few Hallowe’en songs before it was time for FRENCH. The children walked to their French class in a girl/boy patternJ

We had Math in the morning today and made a Hallowe’en pattern down the front of a ghost! Or chose to do a colour by number (a jack o'lantern)
Great job!

After lunch we cut open our class pumpkin and pulled out all of the seeds and string! Each student was willing to feel the bowl full of seeds and each gave me one or two describing words which we will be using later this week! Tomorrow we will count the seeds, and toast and taste some too!

We just had a short game of Fox and Squirrel tag in Gym today and an indoor recess. Library books were exchanged along with Centres time ... playdough, writing, Hallowe’en collage. A great day in all!

Have a super evening!
